During the long-term use of the melt gear pump , leakage will occur, which seriously affects its production operations. The leakage of the melt gear pump mainly exists in the leakage of the axial clearance. How to effectively reduce the axial clearance leakage of the gear pump , Is the first prerequisite to ensure the efficient production and operation of the melt gear pump. Lantai Machinery's melt gear pump manufacturers gave the following specific measures.

1. A floating shaft sleeve can be used to reduce the axial clearance of the melt pump. To reduce internal leakage, a reasonable axial clearance of the melt gear pump must be guaranteed. The structure of the floating shaft sleeve is shown in Figure 1. Under the action of the spring force, this structure enables the right end face of the floating shaft sleeve to abut the gear end face to reduce axial clearance and thus reduce axial leakage. Another advantage of this structure is that it can automatically compensate the axial clearance and prolong the service life of the pump.

2. The hydraulic compensation structure is adopted to reduce the axial clearance of the melt pump. This structure is shown in Figure 2. In the figure, 1 is a side plate. 0.7-0.8mn is poured on the inner side of the side plate. Thick phosphor bronze has a small coefficient of friction. Outside the side plate is an end face. A sealing groove is milled on the end face. An arcuate seal ring 5 is embedded in the seal groove, and the position of the seal ring is exactly on one side of the oil pressure zone of the melt gear pump. The thickness of the side plate is smaller than that of the backing plate 2 of the outer ring by about 0.2 mm. Therefore, a sealed space is formed between the side plate and the end cap in the arcuate seal ring. In addition, this sealed space is separated from the oil pressure passage. There are two small holes in each side plate 1. The small hole communicates with the oil pressure area of the pump. Therefore, the bow seal is filled with oil with a certain pressure. Under the action of pressure oil, the deformed side plate is closely attached to the gear end face, and there is only a layer of oil film between the side plate and the gear end face, and the axial clearance is greatly reduced. Automatic compensation is also available.

The improved sealing method of the melt gear pump is an effective measure to prevent leakage and improve efficiency. The seal elements and seal structures in hydraulic systems need further research and improvement.
